All about Speed Skating
Speed skating is a winter sport in which skaters race on ice over set distances. Skaters wear tight suits and crouch low to reduce air resistance. Races can be short sprints or long-distance events lasting several minutes.
Some speed skating races are held on a long oval track, and skaters switch lanes on each lap. Skaters push off with long strides, using the full length of each blade. Modern skating suits and helmets are designed to be very aerodynamic.
