All about Birds

Birds are warm-blooded animals with feathers, wings and beaks. They lay eggs with hard shells and usually care for their chicks. Birds range in size from the tiny bee hummingbird to the huge ostrich.

Most birds can fly, but some, like penguins, have wings that work as flippers underwater. Others, like ostriches, are too heavy to fly but run very fast. Birds have hollow bones that help them stay light.
