Tapestry

A tapestry is a textile artwork woven on a loom with coloured threads to create pictures or patterns. Tapestries were often used to decorate castles and keep stone rooms warmer. Weavers can take months or years to complete a large tapestry.

The famous Bayeux Tapestry shows a historic battle, although it is actually stitched rather than woven. Tapestries often tell stories about history, religion or everyday life.
