Musical Instruments of the World

Musical instruments are made in many shapes and sizes around the world. The sitar from India has long strings and sympathetic strings that add a rich sound. The kora from West Africa is a harp-like instrument made from a gourd and leather.

The steel pan from Trinidad is made from metal oil drums with shaped dents hammered into them. Each instrument has its own sound and history, and many are played in traditional music and celebrations.
