A voice assistant is a program that understands spoken questions and responds with answers or actions. Voice assistants use speech recognition and artificial intelligence to work out what the person has said. They can be found on phones, computers and smart speakers.

Voice assistants have to learn many accents and languages so they can understand more people. They are improving all the time, but they can still make mistakes, so it is worth checking important answers.
