All about Operating Systems
An operating system (OS) is the main software that manages a computer's hardware and runs other programs. It controls the processor, memory, files and devices, and it gives you a way to interact with the computer through windows, icons or touch.
Common operating systems include Windows, macOS, Linux, Android and iOS. Phones and tablets also run operating systems, and many devices have their own specialised ones. The OS makes sure apps can run safely and share resources.
