Canoe Slalom

Canoe slalom is a race in which paddlers navigate a fast-flowing river course with gates to pass through. Competitors must steer carefully to avoid penalties. The course is designed to test balance, control and speed.

Canoe slalom has been an Olympic sport since 1972. Paddlers train on natural rivers and artificial courses, and they learn to read the water to find the fastest line.
