Mars Colonies

A Mars colony is an idea for a settlement of people living on Mars. Such a colony would need shelter, oxygen, food and water, and it is still a long-term goal for scientists and engineers.

Scientists estimate that a human journey to Mars could take around six to nine months each way. Colonists would need to grow food and recycle water and air in sealed habitats.
