Listening Skills

Good listeners look at the speaker, don't interrupt and ask questions to show they care. Listening helps you learn and builds friendships.

๐Ÿ’ก Fun fact

We have two ears and one mouth: listen twice as much as you speak.

All about Listening Skills

Listening is more than hearing words. Good listeners look at the speaker, avoid interrupting, nod or respond to show they are paying attention and wait until the speaker has finished before replying. Listening carefully helps you understand and learn.

Asking questions shows that you care and want to understand. Try to repeat back what you heard, such as "So you felt upset when that happened?" This helps the speaker feel heard and clears up any confusion.

๐ŸŽฎ Try it yourself!
