Letter Sounds

Each letter, or group of letters, makes a sound. Learning these sounds, called phonics, helps you read new words by blending the sounds together. The letters c, a and t make the sounds k, a and t, which blend into cat.

Practising letter sounds regularly makes reading faster and more confident.
