All about Ancient Egypt

Ancient Egypt was one of the great early civilisations, flourishing for thousands of years along the Nile River. Its rulers, called pharaohs, were believed to be gods on Earth. Egyptians built huge pyramids as tombs to help the pharaohs reach the afterlife.

Egyptians wrote using hieroglyphs, a system of picture symbols. Farming along the Nile was very productive, and the river's yearly floods left rich soil for crops such as wheat and barley.
