All about The Himalayas

The Himalayas are the highest mountain range in the world, stretching across Nepal, India, Bhutan, China (Tibet) and Pakistan. They contain more than 100 peaks above 7,000 metres, including Mount Everest, the highest point on Earth.

The Himalayas formed when the Indian tectonic plate crashed into the Eurasian plate about 50 million years ago. The mountains are still rising by a few millimetres each year, and they feed major rivers such as the Ganges and the Indus.
