Sauna Traditions

Saunas are heated rooms where people sit to relax and sweat. In Finland, the sauna is an important part of everyday life and social gatherings. People often sit in saunas for a few minutes before cooling down in a lake or with a cold shower.

Finland has more saunas than cars, with an estimated three million saunas for about 5. Saunas are often shared with family and friends.
